Supporting families and carers through illness, death and bereavement
I was born in Scotland and completed my Medical and General Practice training there before emigrating to New Zealand in 1997.
I joined the Hospice team that year working alongside the founder of Gisborne’s palliative care services, Dr James Carstens.
For over 20 years I have continued working here with the ever changing but always dedicated professionals who make up the team. My work in this field complements my other role as a General Practitioner at 3 Rivers Medical Centre.
2021 will be an exciting year for the clinical team, our new hospice building is on target to be operational this year. This will provide a fabulous, modern facility to support the patients and their whānau who use our service.
